The aim of the project was to design an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) that maximized an odd shaped lot, and made the most of the interior space and outdoor areas.
A radially organized masterplan helped to order the odd-shaped lot. The 1,150 SF ADU was placed 5′ behind the garage, and the floor plan was designed to maximize the lot up to the 15′ rear-yard setback. A 2nd floor loft includes conditioned area for office and flex space. This energy efficient house utilizes 2×6 walls with an R-value of 21 (walls), and 30 (roof).88
