This policy explains what information this website collects, why it is collected, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to be endured. If anything here is unclear, write to me at hello@travismahoney.com and I will answer plainly.
If you give me your email address, I use it to send you what you asked for and occasional letters about my writing. I do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. You can leave at any time, and every email I send includes a one-click way out.

Your email address, only when you give it. The signup forms on this site ask for an email address and nothing else. No name, no phone number, no mailing address.
Alongside your address, the form quietly records which form you used — for example, whether you asked for the sample chapters or asked to be told when print editions are available. This exists so I can send you the thing you actually asked for instead of sending everyone everything.
If you email me directly at the address above, I receive whatever you choose to write, and I keep that correspondence in my email account the way anyone does.
This site runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party tracking scripts. It does not build a profile of you, follow you to other websites, or set cookies of its own. If you never enter your email address, I have no record that you visited.
Only for these things:
I do not sell, rent, or trade your address. I do not share it with anyone except the service providers named below, who process it strictly on my behalf so that email can be delivered at all.
Running a website and sending email requires a few outside services. Each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data.
This site also links out to other places — Amazon, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and others. Once you follow a link away from here, you are on their ground and their policies apply, not mine.
This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no tracking cookies. Embedded content or the services above may set their own; those are governed by their policies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
Your email address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove it. When you unsubscribe, Kit retains a minimal record so that you are not accidentally re-added later. If you would rather be erased entirely, ask and I will do it.
Wherever you live, you may ask me to tell you what information I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. You will never be treated differently for asking.
If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. I do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the right stands.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR give you rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. The legal basis for sending you email is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given me their email address, write to me and I will delete it.
This site is served over an encrypted connection, and the services above maintain their own security practices. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, and I will not pretend otherwise — but the information collected here is limited to an email address, which keeps the stakes low.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, I will update the date at the top of this page. Substantial changes affecting how your information is used will be announced by email to subscribers.
